When Parents Text.

Just as amusing as Damn You, Auto Correct! comes the newest internet sensation site: When Parents Text.

WPT is dedicated to your entertainment via mocking the complicated relationship between your parents, technology, and you. "This blog is dedicated to the trials and errorsthat come when a parent handles a cellphone."

Be sure to check out both sites, and "like" them on Facebook as well.

So, my dad is now on Facebook.

A few months ago, my mom got on Facebook. I found the whole thing to be silly and adorable. After the London Couture fashion show (could these guys be getting any more promotion from me?! haha), I thought maybe my dad should look into creating a Facebook page for his photography company, Images. We got him all set up this morning, and tagged all of the models who participated in the show. Ta-da! You can now contact him and set up your own portrait sessions through his page HERE. And, as always, on his website HERE. Love you, dad!

Halloween = success thanks to MyPartyShirt.com!

I have a confession to make. When my husband and I decided on our Halloween costumes, I found the website MyPartyShirt.com. I read that if you blogged, facebooked or Twittered (is that even a verb?) about their company, you could get a discount on your purchase. So I wrote the following:

Lyle and I have decided on our Halloween costumes, and I couldn't be more stoked! We have decided to go as contestants of the *amazing* game show Legends of the Hidden Temple!

I wasn't sure where I would find a costume, so I had to google it. The best deal seemed to be mypartyshirt.com, which offered not only the t-shirts, but all of the accompanying accessories. I have decided on Orange Iguana, and Lyle is going to rep the Blue Barracuda.

They have other awesome costumes including Wheres Waldo and Buddy the Elf. If you hurry, you can take advantage of the discounts on the website and get your costume guaranteed before Halloween.

They sent me a discount code to save 20%, which was really cool, and I ordered the costumes. That sounds like the end of the story, right? Wrong. Not only did I save 20%, but I got one of our shirts free because there was a Halloween sale going on. The site was easy to use, and here is the best part: I selected the slowest/cheapest shipping option... and my order was in my mailbox two days later! No kidding. I will definitely use this company again. And so should you.

Gone too long... again.

I've had the intention of posting some new stuff for days now. As with all things in my life, however, my good intentions rarely blossom into anything else. Forced to be home today with a sick little girl, I am catching up on my interneting (yes, I just made that verb up).

A few days ago I was directed to a pretty funny site, http://www.horriblelogos.com/. According to their page, they have been "drawing bad logos for beer money since 2010". It appears that for just $5, you can purchase a lousy logo sketch for your business, band, or whatever. What a bargain, yes?

"Regretsy-- where DIY meets WTF"

I stumbled across this website today, after a friend sent me a link to a bizairre post on Etsy. If you're not familiar with Etsy, it is a site where people can sell homemade items.

Regretsy.com takes this concept a step further by highlighting outrageous Etsy posts. Take a look:

One artist offers to draw a picture of you with Justin Bieber riding on a unicorn. There's even a post from someone who wants a sweater knitted for their pet snail's shell. I think this must be exactly what Mom meant when she said homemade gifts are the most special.

Feed faces Shards-o-Glass pops!

Have you seen the new Shards-o-Glass TV commercials sponsored by Truth? These quirky and sarcastic ads compare the use and temptation of smoking cigarettes to eating adult-only popsicles that are filled with broken glass. I headed over to the website to see what else they could offer me, and found a game called Kiss My Glass in which you feed the glass pops to smiley faces as they travel down a conveyer belt. Pretty addicting. Play here:

A totally appropriate reason to upload your rear-end onto the internet.

www.bootyreader.com

You've GOT to be kidding me.

Old Navy has now created an online shopping site that interacts with you so every women gets the perfect fit when jeans shopping.

At bootyreader.com, you "tell" Madame Eva which styles you prefer, then you upload a photo of your fanny via webcam or a photo, and she will recommend the three best jeans for your shape. Ta-da! How cool is that?!

Don't worry, your booty isn't going to be shared with anyone else. And if you just don't feel comfortable using a real photo, there are virtual tushes you can select to help you find the fit that's right for you.

Now, I should mention that while I did "read" my booty on the site, I haven't gone to Old Navy to see if the results were accurate. I'm sure they are, but even if not, it's still pretty cool.

Long time no blog...

Let's face it, I've been on blog-hiatus for longer than this before. But, I vowed to keep up to date with my writing hobby, so it's time for a new post.

For those who didn't know, I was on vacation for nine days on the island of Maui. It was an amazing trip, and it culminated in a perfect marriage. As of Tuesday afternoon, we're back to reality. Back to the scramble of folding laundry, washing dishes, visiting family, and running errands. No work in the summer-- yeah right!

A few nights ago I was introduced to a website that I couldn't wait to share. Have you ever had a smoothie with ice chunks in it? This is the solution to that problem, and then some. My newest homeboy, Tom Dickson, has a blender that can mix everything from avacados to iPads to the Vuvuzela World Cup 2010 (but not Chuck Norris). Don't believe me? Check this out:

The BlendTec YouTube channel, and the official website, has many more videos of blendable action. Click on the names above for links. These blenders will set you back about $400-1,000, but like those pesky Kirby vacuums, you can't put a price on quality.
